Terms of Service

Unmask terms of use: what the report does, how credits and subscriptions work.

Purpose of the service

Unmask analyzes an image you capture or upload and returns a report with a probability estimate of AI generation or manipulation, the most indicative areas, and a technical and photographic explanation.

By using the app you accept these terms and the privacy notice.

Nature of the report

The result is a probabilistic estimate produced by statistical models and photographic heuristics: it is not a legal expert opinion and does not constitute evidence.

False positives and false negatives are possible, particularly on recompressed, printed and rephotographed, cropped, or low-resolution images.

The decisions you make based on the report remain your own.

Permitted use

You may only analyze images you have the right to process. It is forbidden to upload illegal content, material depicting minors in a sexualized context, or third-party images that violate their privacy.

It is forbidden to attempt to circumvent usage limits, automate mass requests, or resell access to the service without written authorization.

Free trial and credits

The first analysis is free. Subsequent analyses require credits or an active subscription.

A credit corresponds to one successfully completed analysis: if the analysis fails, the credit is not deducted.

Purchased credits do not expire and are consumed only after the analyses included in the current month's plan have been used up.

Subscriptions, renewals, and cancellation

Subscriptions are monthly and renew automatically until cancelled.

Analyses included in the plan reset at each renewal and do not carry over.

An upgrade takes effect immediately with a prorated adjustment; a downgrade takes effect from the next renewal.

Cancellation immediately stops access to the analyses included in the plan; purchased credits remain available.

Payments and refunds

On the web, payments are processed by Stripe; on iOS and Android, through App Store and Google Play in-app purchases, subject to each store's terms.

For in-app purchases, refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google, who decide according to their own policies.

As this is digital content delivered immediately, the right of withdrawal does not apply to analyses already performed.

Account and purchase restoration

Your account is used to sync credits and subscription across devices. You are responsible for the security of your credentials.

You can restore purchases from Account and permanently delete your account and associated data at any time.

Availability and changes

The service depends on AI processing providers and may experience interruptions or changes in model and accuracy.

We may update these terms: material changes are communicated in the app before your next use.

Limits of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty as to the accuracy of the report for any specific use.

To the extent permitted by law, total liability is limited to amounts paid in the last 12 months. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
